Link to the Overview of a Data Cookbook Specification

You can place a link directly on your report that will take the user to the report specification in the Data Cookbook. This can be done with almost any reporting tool and is typically done by placing a text field or label in the header or footer of the report.

Example with a Cognos Report

How to do it

Each Data Cookbook specification is identified by a unique ID and can be seen in your browser when viewing it. It will look like this:
https://myschool.datacookbook.com/institution/reports/1456
Place a link to this URL anywhere on your report and the user clicking on this link will be taken to the report specification in the Data Cookbook.

Link to Add Comments or Request a Change

You can also place links to simple URLs to get a user directly to the comment section, or to a form requesting a change to this specification. This is great for encouraging feedback and collaboration in the Data Cookbook.

Example with an Argos Data Block

Notice the links titled Comments and Request a change...

How to do it

Using the same URL we did before, we can just add to it, like this:
For comments: https://myschool.datacookbook.com/institution/reports/1456#new_comment
To request a change: https://myschool.datacookbook.com/institution/reports/1456/changes/new
